Senate Passes Bennet-Backed Measure Supporting Wind Energy

Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet today joined his Senate colleagues in support of an amendment to the Energy and Water Appropriations bill that boosts funding for wind energy. The measure adds $15.4 million to the $80 million already included in the bill to bring it on par with the funds appropriated in recent years. $30 million of that total is slated for the National Wind Technology Center (NWTC) at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden.

In an effort to continue his push to incentivize clean energy and job growth, Representative Jared Polis (D-CO) introduced the Solar Expansion Distributed Generation Exponentially (EDGE) Act. The bill will promote investment in small scale distributed generation solar projects, especially residential installation, across the U.S., and encourage long-term job growth in the solar industry

Senate Adopts Bennet-Isakson Amendment to Encourage Energy-Efficient Home Improvements

The Senate today adopted an amendment introduced by U.S. Senators Michael Bennet (D-CO) and Johnny Isakson (R-GA) to establish more practical mortgage lending processes on a voluntary basis, encourage investments in energy-efficient homebuilding, and help create tens of thousands of construction jobs. The amendment is based on the bipartisan Sensible Accounting to Value Energy (SAVE) Act that they've previously introduced.
