Kentwood City Properties Celebrates 12th Anniversary at Unique Listing in Lower Downtown

DENVER, CO – May 13, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — Kentwood City Properties, one of three leading real estate offices that comprise Kentwood Real Estate, celebrated its 12th anniversary on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at a unique listing located at 1820 Blake Street in Lower Downtown. Kentwood City Properties opened its original office across the street on May 1, 1999. The anniversary gala showcased fine dining compliments of the Vesta Dipping Grill, plus an impromptu parade featuring 20 B-Cycles decorated with Kentwood logos and green balloons.

“It was a real treat to host our 12th anniversary party across the street from where our office opened for business,” said Jim Theye, co-owner and Managing Broker of Kentwood City Properties. “A commercial broker friend allowed us to sign a six-month lease 12 years ago while we built out our new office at 1453 Wazee Street. Chris Shears of Shears Adkins Architects invited us to drop by and see our old space, which was a very nostalgic treat. We then held our anniversary event at 1820 Blake Street, which is currently listed by Georgia Gallagher of Kentwood City Properties. We opened our office with about eight brokers, including Devvy Altman, Hanne Lichtenfels, and Ken Miller, who are still with Kentwood City Properties.”

Kentwood Broker Associate Dee Chirafisi, also a co-owner of Kentwood City Properties, arranged to have 20 B-Cycles for the event, which agents rode to the anniversary party in a parade-like atmosphere. Approximately 60 Kentwood agents and support personnel attended the event which featured tasty appetizers created by the accomplished chefs with Vesta Dipping Grill. Attendees toasted the event with Prosecco and Cava.

The building at 1820 Blake Street, which is currently listed by Georgia Gallagher of Kentwood City Properties, includes office space on the ground floor and remarkable living space above. Nestled adjacent to the Vesta Dipping Grill, the property offers approximately 7,000 finished square feet and is listed at $2.5 million. The building was listed by Chirafisi about five years ago, and Gallagher found the buyers. It was an in-house transaction and is now being sold again through Kentwood under the experienced guidance of Gallagher.

“My clients who bought the building several years ago had two daughters and four sons, so it was sort of a ‘Brady Bunch’ story,” said Gallagher. “They had all the space they needed, plus so many fun things to enjoy in LoDo, including Colorado Rockies baseball at Coors Field. It’s great that we can once again market this property for these past and current clients.”

The combination commercial/residential property offers a spacious deck with trellis and maintenance-free Trex decking, plus a large terrace providing excellent views of LoDo and Coors Field just a couple of blocks away. There is a private three-car garage, and the owners converted the third space into a large workstation for maintaining their bikes, which is a big hobby for them. The Gourmet kitchen is great for entertaining and includes a large granite island with bar seating, hardwood floors, designer lighting, exposed brick walls, and Thermador and Sub Zero appliances.

The fortunate owners will enjoy a spacious master suite and bath with large walk-in custom closet space and ceiling fan, plus natural light from a skylight. Even with all of the updates, the history has not been lost. The main living area showcases soaring ceilings, exposed beams and brick, a loft overlooking the entertainment area, plus a wall of windows. It’s a home that suits a wide variety of lifestyles, from young professionals to growing families.
