COLORADO ATTORNEY GENERAL ANNOUNCES VICTIMS OF PARAMOUNT MORTGAGE WILL RECEIVE NEARLY $1M IN RESTITUTION

DENVER – September 1, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers today announced a successful outcome for victims of Paramount Mortgage of Colorado Ltd and owner Jill M. Evans (D.O.B. 09/15/65). In early 2012, the Attorney General announced that the State Grand Jury had indicted Evans for stealing fees for mortgage loans that Evans never delivered.

“In cases like this, it is often challenging to secure compensation of victims for their loss. So it is especially gratifying that this case results in people receiving full restitution,” said Suthers.

Evans pled guilty to theft and forgery and under a plea deal agreed to pay full restitution of $919,465.35 to more than a dozen victims who reside in Colorado, Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Nevada, New York, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Nevada, Virginia and Washington.
