Colorado Housing Market More Ready Than Ever for Design Firms

-

WASHINGTON, D.C. – March 18, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — As the doors closed on 2012, high-country real estate sales blasted to their highest mark since 2008. Real estate sales in Eagle, Grand, Pitkin, San Miguel, Routt and Summit counties reached 37 percent higher sales marks than they did in 2009. When looking at the numbers they are still well shy of reaching the glory marks of 2007. But statistics tell us that if the trend continues, we will well be on our way to basking in the numbers from 6 years ago. The inventory is out there and the buyers are stepping out of the woodwork. Properties are in high competition with one another to claim their spots in escrow. Design firms like Designer Premier and Slifer Designs are busier than ever in transforming homes into more equitable properties that have a fiercer competitive edge on the grand real estate market stage.

A good kitchen sells the home and today design firms are bulking up their resumes with some of the most stunning kitchen design creations in Colorado. As the kitchen is the heart of the home where meals are prepared, homework is tackled, games are played and parties are thrown, having a modern yet timeless kitchen design will make any home more marketable than those that may have high-end finishes but lack style and freshness. A contemporary black and white kitchen will stay in style for years, as it has already been regarded as an upscale color combo dating as far back as the 1920s, and is still utilized in modern Manhattan lofts today.  Any good designer can take the black and white thematic pattern and play upon a tension that can fizzle between the country and modern feel. Uniting textures, patterns and materials to help make all the components fluent and work in harmony requires special skill and attention to detail that only a veteran in the industry can achieve. Furthermore, the designer will have a conscious plan for utilizing natural light and will carefully select design features that play well in all lighting conditions.

In examining interior design plans that sell high-end homes, the National Kitchen and Bath Association reveal hot kitchen design trends for 2013. Utilizing gray color schemes in both baths and kitchens have seen a dramatic climb since 2010, particularly over the last year, the NKBA reports. On the national level, gray color schemes are used in 55 percent of kitchens and 56 percent of baths across the country. The color scheme creates a chic, sophisticated look that make it a popular trend today, and one for years to come. The NKBA also reports that another top trending design component includes white painted cabinetry, glass backsplashes, LED lighting, high-end touch-activated faucets and satin-nickel finishes in the kitchen.

With Colorado’s high-country real estate sales climbing at a speedy and steady rate, builders and designers are beginning to pick back up their drafting papers and scaling tools. Design trends speak loud and clear to today’s real estate market. If the two can play together, both markets should see an extra boost in profitability.
